![]() ![]() Now Korea was controlled by two different major powers. The Japanese surrendered to the Soviets in the north and the Japanese surrendered to the Americans in the south. President Truman ordered the landing of US troops in the south. The Soviets Declared War on the Japanese Empire and in August invaded Korea from the north. I will tell you some facts some of these battles.Such as The Korean War, The Bay of Pigs Invasion, The Cuban Missile Crisis, and theVietnam War. ![]() Even though there wasn’t a lot of head on fighting there still were some battles. The United States and the Soviet Union fought because the Soviets wanted to control other countries and they asked the Americas to help them fight. The Cold War started with the end of World War 11.The Cold War saw the largest conventional and the first nuclear arms race in history. This lasted from 1947 until the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. Most of the fighting was economic pressure, selective aid, diplomatic maneuver, propaganda, assassination, low-intensity military operations and full-scale proxy war(proxy war means a war instigated by a major power that does not itself participate).
